
Jacy Hargrave is a clinical mental health counselor / clinical supervisee who provides therapy for children age 8 and older, adolescents, and adults. She works with clients experiencing a range of emotional,
behavioral, relational, and life-adjustment concerns, including anxiety, depression, ADHD-
related concerns, interpersonal difficulties, behavioral challenges, stress, self-esteem concerns,
emotion regulation difficulties, and self-exploration.
Jacy earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from McKendree
University. She completed her internship in a university counseling setting, where she worked
primarily with college-aged young adults, and gained additional experience during her practicum
working with older adults. These experiences helped shape her ability to support clients across
different stages of life, with attention to each person’s individual background, needs, and goals.
Jacy’s approach to therapy is grounded in authenticity, collaboration, and intentional support.
She strives to create a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, respected, and able to
explore their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and life experiences without judgment.
Her style is genuine, creative, and supportive. She works alongside clients to better understand
patterns, build coping skills, strengthen emotional awareness, and identify practical steps toward
change. Jacy values meeting clients where they are while also helping them move toward greater
insight, confidence, and healthier ways of managing life’s challenges.
Jacy uses an integrative and eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from person-centered values
and tailoring treatment to each client’s needs. Depending on the client’s age, concerns, and goals,
she may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills, play
therapy techniques, mindfulness-based approaches, strengths-based work, solution-focused
strategies, and other supportive interventions.
Her goal is not to apply one rigid method to every client, but to use thoughtful, individualized
treatment planning that supports growth, emotional regulation, practical coping, and meaningful
change.
